*FORGE OPERATOR

Position is responsible for forging aluminum into parts using a forge press.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work from production order, job tickets and by direction perform the necessary duties to efficiently set-up and operate a variety of forging machines.
  • Follow prescribed set-up and operating procedures.
  • Inspect dies before inserting into machine to ensure their serviceability. Verify that the dies are the proper set for the part to be forged.
  • Direct the assistant operator and furnace loader as to the duties they perform.
  • Verify that the material to be forged is correct and the dimensions are according to specifications.
  • Inspect forgings as required to ensure quality standards. Adjust as necessary.  Report unusual conditions to supervisor.
  • Monitor furnace temperature and speed to ensure proper heating of slugs and or parts.
  • Inspect dies after use and tag dies requiring further inspection or rework.
  • Maintain daily timekeeping and production forms on a timely and accurate basis.
  • Report unusual or unsafe conditions to supervision.
  • Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment. Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of industrial accidents and provide quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.

 

 

*FORGE CATCHER

Position is responsible for assisting the Forge Operator in the forge operation.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Transfers workpiece to and from work stations, such as furnace, forge press, and trim press, using tongs;
  • Clean dies with air blast and lubricate dies during forging operations. As required, mix lubricant as instructed;
  • Removes scale from workpiece and dies, using wire brush;
  • Positions and turns workpieces during forging;
  • Assist the Forge Operator to set dies in forge press, align dies, position and secure clamps and bolts; oil and grease die parts;
  • Cleans work area with broom and shovel and cleans machine parts;
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition;
  • Follow verbal/written instructions given by Supervisor;
  • Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment. Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of industrial accidents and provide quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.

 

*POLISHER

Position is responsible for preparing the surface of aluminum products for further treatments.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare and/or polish the surface of aluminum parts using a combination of powered hand tools or polishing machines;
  • Set up polisher using correct belt and dressing wheels to ensure quality polishing;
  • Ensure part is properly ground to meet quality requirements;
  • Inspect part before and after grinding;
  • Maintain all necessary equipment and tools; ensure work area is clean and secure;
  • Inspect work upon completion to ensure product meets or exceeds quality expectations;
  • Assist and support other Polishers as needed;
  • Identify problems and provide suggestions for improvement;
  • Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment. Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of industrial accidents and provide quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

*PACK & INSPECT

Position is responsible for inspecting parts and then packing in a manner to eliminate damage to part.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Visually inspect parts for nicks, dents, and pressure cracks;
  • Gauge parts using the equipment at the gauge station;
  • Place parts into shipping box per work instructions.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition;
  • Follow verbal/written instructions given by Supervisor;
  • Report problems to Supervisor;
  • Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment. Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of industrial accidents and provide quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.

 

 

*IN-LINE VIBE CELL INSPECTOR

Position is responsible for inspecting parts and preparing them for aging or shipping as they exit the solution furnace.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 100% Visual Inspection of Parts going into an ager basket or shipping box.
  • Maintain the vibe media level by visual inspection and add vibe media when needed.
  • Maintain the corn dryer media by visual inspection and add corn media when needed.
  • Maintain the part washer water level by visual inspection and add water to part washer when needed.
  • Maintain the vibe soap level by visual inspection and call to replace vibe soap barrel when needed.
  • Notified Supervisor and Cell employees on any quality issues that arise on the parts that are being produce through the cell;

*BELT LOADER

Position is responsible for placing aluminum slugs on furnace belt.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Load aluminum slugs into multiple furnaces per work instructions;
  • Put parts into tub after solution & forge process is complete;
  • Clean work area during idle time;
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition;
  • Follow verbal/written instructions given by Supervisor;
  • Report problems to Supervisor;
  • Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment. Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of industrial accidents and provide quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions.

 

 

*VIBE PULLER

Position is responsible for unloading product from the vibe machine.

 

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Use hands to pull part from vibe media and place it on rinse table.
  • Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition;
  • Follow verbal/written instructions given by Supervisor;
  • Report problems to Supervisor;

All positions have the following physical requirements:

 

Physical requirements of the job involve long-term standing.  Frequent twisting, turning, reaching, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing are also required. Must be able to lift up to 25-45 pounds repeatedly during the day. Must be willing to work in varying conditions including cold, heat, and noisy environment.
